Symphony House |
Link to Living |
BLT transformed the vacant .93 acre site at the southwest corner of Broad and Pine Streets in Philadelphia into a 31-story, 507,000 SF tower featuring 163 condominium residences, a 388-car parking garage, and 4,200 SF of retail. Amenities include a fitness center, sundeck, clubrooms, catering kitchen, wine cellar and tasting room, and two board rooms. It is also home to the Philadelphia Theatre Company, a 400-seat venue. Symphony House continues the resurgence of the Avenue of the Arts with exciting architecture, compelling uses and critical mass.
Reminiscent of the great residential buildings of the 1920's, Symphony House looks forward without compromising its ability to build on and fit into the city of which it is so integrally a part. The exterior walls are permanent masonry construction like the long lasting buildings which it emulates, yet the wall panels are reinforced with a space age material, carbon fiber filament, bringing time tested materials into the modern age. The building ascends with setbacks allowing for terraces and balconies with multiple views. The rich exterior materials and design, complementary to the surrounding buildings, reinforces the site and the Avenue as a place for elegant entertainment, dining and living.
