Description

The Stephen Girard Building, built in 1896, holds a place within the Center City East Commercial Historic District, located on South 12th Street, between Ludlow Street and Clover Street. Assumed into the East Market Development, its presence within the new surrounding urban fabric is established through the restoration and preservation of its exterior fa├žades.

Ground level storefront and entry design is incorporated, activating retail program and reintroduces its purpose to the pedestrian. An architectural lighting design is also provided to enhance the building facades as well as provide street and sidewalk lighting for a safe and welcoming user experience.
