Extensive master planning was provided to assist Harrah's in formulating strategies for expanding their gaming capacities and moving toward themed mega-resorts in anticipation of imminent development of adjoining properties. Work included site evaluation and master planning for a 1500-room expansion complete with restaurants, meeting rooms, health club, retail, parking and a "must see" attraction lobby including an original concept in guest check-in. Expansion of Harrah's guestroom capacity and gaming facilities involved adding a 282,000 SF 16-floor hotel tower with 416 guestrooms, and 14,000 SF of casino space. The project also included 15,000 SF of warehousing, and renovations to the health club and other areas of the original complex. Hotel and casino valet entries were also provided and a gracious landscaped forecourt was created.
Complementing expansion of the casino, the truly unique entertainment-oriented gourmet seafood buffet Fantasea Reef restaurant was conceived as an undersea experience including significant rock and waterscape, aquariums, video walls and an array of custom lighting and finishes.
