This 138-acre multi-use complex was developed to provide retail and support services for thousands of nearby office and research workers as conceptualized in the site master plan developed by BLT in collaboration with Sasaki Associates as a pedestrian-oriented town center. As the name implies, a series of offices and retail buildings that vary in mass, size, and architectural detail are comprised much as they would in any small town. The buildings define a series of public plazas and pedestrian streets, well appointed with quality materials, street furniture, lighting, and plantings. Walking is encouraged by the proximity of buildings and a system of protected walkways that connect them. Automobiles are not needed within the Village and are relegated to surrounding parking lots.
Over 85 retail shops and restaurants are situated throughout, primarily at street level, with second and third levels accommodating 230,000 SF of office space. A 300-room hotel with meeting and banquet facilities anchors the east side of the main square. The complex also includes a large Market Hall, dining facilities, a bank, daycare facility, additional support services, and a planned major fitness center.
