Architecture and art
On a late winter visit to Long Island’s East End, the permanence of the Parrish Museum was inspiring. The simple, vernacular form and rugged details communicate a timeless landscape unique to Long Island. Emphasized by April Gornik’s Light before Heat (a local painting, bottom) inside, the parallel of realist art and architecture are striking and worth a field trip. – Donna Lisle, AIA, LEED AP, Senior Associate
