- Description
Catering to business travelers in the New York City area, The Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott needed expanded meeting and banquet spaces and renovations to the main lobby, food and beverage venues to accommodate current hospitality trends and use patterns. The centerpiece of the renovations was the addition of a 10,000 SF ballroom. The new ballroom had few existing parameters to work around, so flexibility was hallmark, both internal to the room and in conjunction with the existing 6,000 square foot ballroom.
Sub-dividable into eight separate spaces and sharing a common enlarged pre-function area with the existing ballroom, the new ballroom features state-of-the-art lighting and video capabilities. Its signature is a contemporary ceiling of floating geometric forms. In addition, parking changes increased the property’s capacity for hosting large events, improved vehicle circulation, and enhanced parking payment infrastructure and equipment.
