Description

The renovated Latham mixes historical presence and modern Philadelphia sophistication. From exterior façade to the interior re-creation of a 2- story lobby, restaurant, lounge, guestrooms and operational facilities, the project will situate the hotel to take advantage of its upscale location.

Outside, the design enhances this National Register structure with a new facade recalling the bronze ornamental storefront typical of the era, in a modern two dimensional cut-out. Monolithic glass openings wrap the sidewalk corner and engage the city with views into the vibrant cafe and bar, designed in a casual eco-chic style. Subtle LED lighting puts emphasis on the classical upper façade and gilded canopy evoking a formal and elegant arrival.

Inside, the original contained lobby is transformed to a modern sense of expansive space detailed with color and texture. The lobby colonnade alone remains, with the public floor flowing through the columns on both sides from a contemporary business lounge to the cafe/bar.
